Concert in the Park

On Sunday, June 29, 2914, the SoCalPhil performed at the Huntington Beach Central Park Library as part of the Huntington Beach Concert Band Summer Series. The SoCalPhil was the first symphony orchestra to be invited to perform as part of the series.

The concert was performed in the natural amphitheater area in the park behind Huntington Beach Central Library. Attendees enjoyed picnic dinners complete with beach chairs and blankets while they listened to the orchestra perform a variety of pieces including our National Anthem, Brahms Academic Festival Overture, Copland’s Outdoor Overture, Hanson’s Symphony No. 2, Selections from Pirates of the Caribbean, Sibelius’ Finlandia, and Sousa’s Starr & Stripes Forever.
